Dolphin Tabtab Plaster Mold
A single-piece plaster mold designed for producing decorative ceramic objects
in the form of a dolphin. Thanks to its flat-back product form, it is suitable
for wall decoration and marine-themed ceramic projects. The mold can be used
with both the Tabtab (pressing) method and the slip casting method.

Dimension Information:
The finished product dimensions are measured from the ceramic bisque piece.
Final product dimensions may vary depending on the shrinkage rate of the clay
and the firing temperature.
Tabtab (Vacuum-Deaired Clay) Application
The mold is suitable for production using vacuum-deaired ceramic clay with
the Tabtab method. The prepared clay should be placed onto the mold surface
and pressed in a controlled manner to ensure that it reaches all details
of the dolphin form.
- An appropriate amount of vacuum-deaired clay should be placed onto the mold surface.
- The clay should be pressed by hand so that it reaches all details of the form.
- Excess clay should be removed carefully.
- Once the product reaches sufficient firmness, it should be carefully removed from the mold.
- The Tabtab method can be used for fast and practical production.
Casting Slip Application
When used with the slip casting method, the mold can be used with earthenware,
ceramic, stoneware, and porcelain casting slips. The wall thickness and casting
time may vary depending on the characteristics of the clay used.
- It is recommended to mix the casting slip thoroughly until homogeneous before casting.
- The casting slip should be poured into the mold in a controlled manner.
- The casting slip should reach all surface details of the dolphin form.
- Drying time may be longer with the slip casting method compared to the Tabtab method.
- The mold should be allowed to dry sufficiently between castings.
Warning:
For casting applications, it is not suitable for stone powder, plaster,
concrete, resin, or similar non-ceramic casting materials.
Usage and Drying
Wet Mold Warning:
Depending on production intensity, the mold may occasionally be shipped
while still damp or wet. In this case, it should be left to
air-dry naturally for 1–2 days in a well-ventilated area
before use.
Minor deformation may occur on the outer surface, edges, or corners
of the mold during transportation. The mold can still be used as long as
there is no damage to the forming surface or form details that would affect
the product or interfere with the production process.
Mold Lifespan:
The lifespan of the mold may vary depending on the clay used, production method,
frequency of use, and drying conditions.
