Infuse your home with a serene, aquatic atmosphere using the Dolphin Censer. This high-quality ceramic bisque features a playful and elegant dolphin motif, offering a perfect canvas for underglaze painting, Mediterranean-inspired patterns, or creative "Çini" art. Designed with a dedicated top reservoir for oils and a stable base for tealights, it is both a decorative and functional masterpiece.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This product is delivered in bisque (unglazed) form. To ensure the censer is heat-resistant, non-porous for aromatic liquids, and durable, professional glazing and kiln firing are mandatory.

Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly compatible with this bisque. Because a censer must withstand heat from a tealight, a professional glazed finish is vital to ensure thermal durability and to make the cleaning of essential oil residues effortless.

  • Ceramic Application: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a professional, high-gloss, and resilient finish.
  • Tile (Çini) Application: Traditional tile glazes maturing at 900°C – 920°C can also be used for detailed artisanal designs.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

  • Suitable only for display-oriented projects (no kiln firing required).
  • Safety Warning: Do not use with real tealights or burning oils if finished with acrylics, as the paint is not heat-resistant. Use LED tealights for decorative purposes only.

Craftsmanship & Handcrafted Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each Dolphin Censer reflects the unique hallmarks of artisanal production. Natural variations in thickness, size, or clay tone are natural characteristics of authentic handcrafted pottery.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

  • Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and dried before applying glaze.
  • Strictly follow the temperature requirements of the specific glaze used.
  • Performing a test fire is suggested to observe how kiln atmosphere influences the final color.
