OZZ GLAZE DD-11 Recess can be used on relief surfaces, carved patterns, geometric textures, curved forms and pieces with pronounced recessed and raised details. As the glaze pools in recessed areas, it helps the details of the form appear more defined and dimensional.

Application Notes

• Mixing: Mix the product regularly before and during application to ensure an even distribution of the coloring and reactive components.
• Coat application: For brush application, apply 2-3 even coats to the bisque-fired surface, allowing sufficient drying time between coats.
• Thickness effect: As the number of coats and application thickness increase, the color intensity and visual depth in recessed areas may become more pronounced.
• Reactive character: The intensity of the color variations and surface movement may vary depending on application thickness, peak temperature, kiln atmosphere and cooling schedule.
• Flow control: Consider the glaze’s downward movement on vertical forms and apply it more thinly around the lower sections and base of the piece.
• Kiln shelf protection: Fire the piece on a catch plate or suitable kiln shelf separator to protect against possible glaze runs.
