Cosmos Vase Ceramic Bisque
Cosmos Vase Ceramic Bisque is an unglazed ceramic bisque product designed for painting, glazing, and personalized decoration projects, featuring a vertical form with an open center and curved surfaces.
Its inner and outer surfaces provide a distinctive application area for underglaze paints, ceramic glazes, ceramic paints, graphic lines, geometric motifs, color transitions, and galaxy-themed compositions. The small and large size options can be displayed together to create a coordinated, graduated decorative series.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The product is supplied as fired but unglazed ceramic bisque. To make the vase suitable for holding water, its inner chamber must be completely coated with a suitable ceramic glaze, fired again at the temperature recommended for the glaze used, and tested for leaks before use.

Painting and Usage Options

- Galaxy-themed patterns, graphic lines, geometric motifs, and color transitions can be applied to the surface.
- The distinctive form can be emphasized by decorating the area around the central opening with contrasting colors.
- Complementary or continuous compositions can be created across the curved inner and outer surfaces.
- The small and large sizes can be decorated using the same color palette to create a coordinated decorative series.
- Different surface finishes can be created using solid-color, matte, glossy, metallic, speckled, reactive, or effect glazes.
- Once properly glazed, it can be used for arrangements with single stems, slender-stemmed flowers, dried flowers, and decorative branches.
- For projects that will not be kiln-fired, acrylic painting, masking, dry-brush, antiquing, and metallic-effect techniques can be applied.
DECORATIVE USE WARNING: Products decorated with acrylic paint or decorative varnish should only be used for dry, decorative purposes. They must not be filled with water or washed under running water.
Application and Firing Notes
- Before painting, remove dust from the inner and outer surfaces with a clean, dry brush.
- The firing temperature should be determined according to the technical specifications of the paint and glaze used.
- Care should be taken to prevent excessive glaze from accumulating around the central opening, curved transitions, vase opening, and base.
- Glaze should be applied in an even thickness to ensure consistent color and texture across the curved surfaces.
- Excess glaze accumulating in narrow transitions may alter the surface appearance or reduce the size of the openings.
- The base must be left unglazed when placing the product in the kiln.
- For products intended to hold water, the inner chamber must be glazed completely and without gaps.
- The small and large products should be positioned inside the kiln to prevent them from touching each other or other pieces.
- After firing, check the surfaces for cracks, pinholes, sharp edges, or unglazed areas.
WATER USE WARNING: Glazing the product alone does not guarantee that it will be watertight. The correct glaze and firing program must be used, and each product should be filled with water for a specified period and tested separately for leaks before use.
Display and Handling Notes
- The product should be displayed on a flat, stable surface where there is no risk of impact.
- When carrying the product, do not hold it by the vase opening or central opening; support it from the body and base.
- Carrying the product by the central opening is not recommended, as this may place pressure on the body.
- Long or heavy branches may alter the product’s center of gravity, so arrangements should be prepared carefully to maintain balance.
- When the small and large sizes are displayed side by side, they should be positioned so that they do not touch each other.
- The product should not be displayed on inclined or vibrating surfaces or near edges.
Handcraftsmanship and Product Variations
Due to the ceramic production process, slight variations in dimensions, weight, surface texture, color tone, body curvature, central opening, and vase opening may occur between products. These differences do not affect use and are a natural result of the production process.
TEST RECOMMENDATION: A small test application is recommended before use to check the compatibility of the paint and glaze with the product, the result they produce on the curved inner and outer surfaces, and their firing behavior.
