Use in Glassworking

After torchworking, rapid cooling of glass pieces may cause thermal shock and cracking. Cooling sand is used to help hot glass cool more gradually.

How to Use

Once the visible glow of the glass has subsided, the piece is immersed in the cooling sand and left to cool. The cooling sand can be used in a terracotta pot during the application.

Usage note: Hot glass pieces should not be exposed to sudden temperature changes. After the piece is placed in the cooling sand, it should be left to cool gradually under controlled conditions.
