Application Notes

  • Mixing: The product should be mixed thoroughly before and during application to ensure even distribution of pigments and glaze components.
  • Surface preparation: The bisque-fired clay body should be clean, dry, and free from dust.
  • Baumé adjustment: The appropriate Baumé value for the selected application method should be adjusted by adding water in a controlled manner.
  • Brush application: The water content of the standard product can be reduced to achieve a consistency suitable for brush application. After allowing the product to stand for at least 12 hours, water accumulated on the surface can be carefully removed using a syringe.
  • 250 ml application: The concentrated 250 ml product can be applied directly by brush after thorough mixing.
  • Drying between coats: Allow the surface moisture of the previous coat to dissipate before applying the next coat.
  • Color effect: The intensity and opacity of the red tone may vary depending on application thickness, clay body, and firing schedule.
  • Multicolor application: Before combining with other colors, test the interaction between the glazes and any potential flow behavior on a test tile.
  • Underglaze decoration: The opaque or semi-opaque nature of the colored glaze may reduce the visibility of designs underneath.
  • Cellulose use: If consistency is difficult to adjust for dipping applications, experienced users may add approximately 1% cellulose to the product. Cellulose that is not fully dissolved may cause clumping.
  • Firing: Once the surface moisture of the applied glaze has dissipated, the piece should be fired using an appropriate firing schedule.
  • Safety: Appropriate personal protective equipment should be used during application, and the work area should be adequately ventilated. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.
  • Storage: Keep the product tightly sealed at room temperature and away from direct sunlight.
Important Recommendation: The red tone, opacity, and gloss of the glaze may vary depending on application thickness, clay body, actual kiln temperature, and firing schedule. Testing on a sample tile using your own clay body and firing schedule is recommended before the main application.
