Classic Goblet Ceramic Bisque

The Classic Goblet is a timeless piece meticulously hand-thrown on the potter's wheel. Unlike mass-produced mold items, each goblet carries the unique touch of artisanal craftsmanship, offering an elegant silhouette for your custom ceramic art projects.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This product is delivered in bisque (unglazed) form. To ensure it is food-safe and waterproof for drinking, professional glazing and kiln firing are mandatory. Because these are handmade on a wheel, slight variations in dimensions are expected.

Goblet Specifications and Dimensions

  • Height: 13 cm
  • Rim Diameter: 9 cm
  • Base Diameter: 6 cm
  • Average Weight: 230 gr (±2%)

The 13 cm height provides a classic grip and balanced feel, perfect for personalized wine or water goblets once the final firing is completed.

Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Our Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly recommended for these wheel-thrown forms. Firing is the essential final step to achieve a professional, non-porous ceramic finish.

  • Ceramic Firing: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a smooth, high-gloss, and food-grade surface.
  • Tile (Çini) Firing: Use traditional tile glazes maturing at 900°C – 920°C for a refined, artisanal look.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

  • Suitable for display-only decorative projects using acrylic paints (no kiln firing required).
  • Safety Warning: Acrylic-finished items are not food-safe. Do not use for drinking if finished with acrylics.
  • Finish with a protective varnish post-painting to maintain the artistic integrity.

Handcrafted Quality & Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each goblet is unique. Variations in thickness, dimensions, or clay tone (white vs. red clay) are natural hallmarks of hand-thrown pottery and add significant value to the artisanal nature of the piece.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

  • Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned and dried before glaze application.
  • Strictly follow the temperature requirements for your specific glaze type.
  • Pre-testing is advised as kiln variables can influence the final bisque color.
  • Technical results of the firing and glazing process are the user's responsibility.
