SG 1503 Maldives - Ceramingo Stoneware Glaze

SG 1503 Maldives takes its name from the shallow lagoons of the Maldives, clear seas meeting white sands, and tropical freshness. This special glaze, which reacts at high stoneware firing temperatures, provides a serene mint green/light turquoise base on the surface; while "breaking" into lighter, creamy tones on edges and relief details to create immense natural depth. With its satin-matte silky texture, it infuses your objects with a modern, fresh, and peaceful artistic spirit.

✅ Food Safety: This glaze is food safe. Thanks to its high temperature resistance and smooth surface structure, it can be safely used for modern breakfast sets, fresh serving bowls, and characteristic stoneware mug designs.

Application and "Maldives" Effect Notes

  • Reactive Transitions: The most distinct feature of this glaze is how it changes character based on application thickness. The pastel turquoise tone becomes saturated in recessed areas, while thinning out on high points (edges and textures) to create a light creamy halo.
  • Application Technique: Applying 3 coats with a brush is ideal to capture that fully saturated, silky lagoon texture. Waiting for complete drying between coats enhances the quality of the reaction.
  • Clay Selection: On white stoneware clays, colors emerge in their freshest, cleanest form, reminiscent of Maldivian waters. On speckled clays, it takes on a much more rustic and exotic character.
  • Density Management: For ideal fluidity in dipping or pouring methods, you can optimize the density according to your application style by adding 5-10% water.
