GCT 156 Tan - Ceramingo Glossy Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

GCT 156 Tan is an opaque, high-gloss Ceramingo glaze that brings the warmth of leather and the burnt earth tones of autumn to glazed surfaces. At low-fire temperatures, it creates a smooth, uniform surface that gives each form a rich, warm and natural tan shade. Its balanced color character complements designs ranging from rustic pieces to modern forms while adding distinct depth to the surface.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application Notes

  • Brush application: Apply 3 coats over white clay to achieve a rich and uniform tan appearance. Allow each coat to dry completely and apply successive coats in alternating directions.
  • Coverage: The tan shade appears cleaner, brighter and more balanced on white clay bodies. Results on red or dark-colored clay bodies may develop a darker, more antique character depending on the application thickness and clay body.
  • Consistency adjustment: The product is ready to use for brush application. For dipping or spraying, add water gradually and in a controlled manner to achieve the appropriate flow.
  • Mixing: Stir the product before application and regularly during use to distribute the pigments and glaze components evenly across the surface.
  • Surface character: On relief and textured forms, the glaze may become thinner around the edges and emphasize surface details. Variations in application thickness may create tonal transitions.
Important Recommendation: The final color and gloss of the glaze may vary depending on the application thickness, clay body, kiln atmosphere, firing schedule and cooling rate. Testing on a sample tile is recommended before the main application.
