It can also be applied in red mud.
It can be applied to the dried infrastructure product (white or red clay).
Lining is one of the oldest ceramic decoration techniques.
However, the primers are matte, unlike glaze.

For What Purpose Is Ceramic Engobe Used?


It is generally used to smoothen, smoothen or change the color of the ceramic product.
There is no obligation to use only the color of the mud.
If desired, it is possible to color the primer by adding ceramic dyes, oxides or pigments to the prepared clay and water mixture.
If used alone, it allows the paint and glaze to adhere to the body better and at the same time gives whiteness.

 

How to Apply Ceramic Engobe?

 


The ceramic liner is applied to the unbaked biscuit and enters the first kiln.
The prepared primer is applied when the surface is leather-hard and fired when the product is completely dry.
If a glazed image is desired after the first firing, it can be easily glazed and then glazed fired again.
It can be applied with a brush or applied by dipping.
When the application is made with the dipping method, a much smoother result will be obtained on the surface.
Firing Degree is 1040° - 1060°.
