Box Sugar Bowl Ceramic Bisque
Box Sugar Bowl Ceramic Bisque is an unglazed ceramic bisque product designed for serving treats, painting, and personalized decorative storage projects, featuring a round body and matching lid.
The body and lid surfaces provide a convenient application area for underglaze paints, ceramic glazes, ceramic paints, mandalas, botanical motifs, lettering, and wraparound borders. With its 250 ml capacity, it can be used to serve sugar, Turkish delight, and small dry treats once properly finished.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The product is supplied as fired but unglazed ceramic bisque. To make it suitable for serving food, the inner surface, rim, underside of the lid, and all areas that may come into contact with food must be coated with food-safe ceramic glazes and fired again at the temperature recommended for the glaze used.

Application and Firing Notes
- Before painting, remove dust from the body and lid surfaces with a clean, dry brush.
- The firing temperature should be determined according to the technical specifications of the paint and glaze used.
- The inner surface, rim, underside of the lid, and areas that will come into contact with food must be glazed evenly and without gaps.
- A thick layer of glaze should not be left on surfaces where the lid and body come into contact.
- The lid and body should be placed separately during glaze firing to prevent them from touching each other.
- When placing them in the kiln, the base areas of the body and lid that come into contact with the kiln shelf must be left unglazed.
- After firing, check the lid-to-body fit and the integrity of the glazed surfaces.
- Confirm that the surfaces are free from cracks, pinholes, sharp edges, and uncoated areas.
FOOD CONTACT WARNING: Glazing the product alone does not make it suitable for serving food. Only glazes identified by their manufacturer as food-safe should be used, and all contact surfaces must be carefully inspected after correct application and firing.
Lid Use and Cleaning Notes
- It is recommended to mark and paint the matching lid and body together and fire them using the same kiln program.
- It should be noted that glaze thickness may affect the fit of the lid.
- The lidded design should not be considered airtight or vacuum-sealed storage.
- The lid should be held carefully when lifted to prevent it from being dropped.
- Food residue should be cleaned promptly using a soft sponge and suitable cleaning product.
- Metal scouring pads, hard scrapers, and abrasive cleaners should be avoided.
- Dishwasher suitability depends on the technical properties of the applied glaze and firing program.
- Products decorated with acrylic paint or decorative varnish must not be soaked in water or washed.
Handcraftsmanship and Product Variations
Due to the ceramic production process, slight variations in dimensions, weight, capacity, surface texture, color tone, and lid fit may occur between products. These differences do not affect use and are a natural result of the production process.
TEST RECOMMENDATION: A small test application is recommended before use to check the compatibility of the paint and glaze with the product, their effect on the lid fit, and their firing behavior.
