Application Notes

  • Coat application: Apply 2-5 coats by brush for a deep and saturated lapis effect. Allow the surface to dry completely between coats.
  • Clay body selection: On light-colored clay bodies, the blue tones may appear brighter and more pronounced, while on darker clay bodies they may develop a deeper and more dramatic appearance.
  • Tonal variations: Subtle color variations caused by differences in application thickness can enhance the natural stone appearance and handcrafted character of the surface.
  • Preparation: Mix the product thoroughly before use to ensure even distribution of the concentrated pigments across the surface.
  • Flow control: On vertical and relief surfaces, the glaze may accumulate differently in certain areas. Leave a sufficient safety margin near the base of the form.
Important Recommendation: The intensity of the lapis blue color, natural tonal variations, and surface gloss may vary depending on application thickness, clay body, firing curve, and kiln atmosphere. Testing on a sample tile before the main application is recommended.
