Botz 9593 Winter Magic is a ready-to-use liquid glaze distinguished by its light blue base and large yellow, blue and green speckles that spread across the surface. After firing, it creates a glossy, multicolored and dynamic surface. Applying at least 2 coats by brush is recommended to achieve balanced color, opacity and speckle distribution.

Application Notes

• Mixing: Stir the product regularly before and during application to distribute the yellow-, blue- and green-speckle components evenly throughout the light blue base.
• Surface preparation: The bisque surface must be clean, dry, free from grease and thoroughly dust-free before application.
• First coat: Apply the first coat evenly and allow it to dry sufficiently before applying the second coat.
• Coat application: Apply at least 2 coats by brush to achieve a balanced light blue base, good opacity and even speckle distribution.
• Coat direction: Coats may be applied in different directions to help minimize brush marks and variations in coverage.
• Speckle distribution: If the product is not stirred regularly, the different-colored speckles may become concentrated in certain areas of the surface.
• Thickness effect: The intensity of the light blue base, opacity and appearance of the speckles may vary between thinly and thickly applied areas.
• Form effect: Glaze may accumulate in recessed, curved and horizontal areas, creating sections with more intense color and denser speckles.
• Firing: The product can be fired between 1020°C and 1100°C. The recommended ideal firing range is 1040°C to 1050°C.
• High temperature: Although the product can be fired up to 1100°C, changes in the colors and speckle structure should be evaluated on a test tile.
• Clay body selection: The product may also be used on colored clay bodies; however, the body color may affect the appearance of the light blue base and speckles.
• Glaze combinations: Before combining with other glazes, test the color transitions, speckle distribution and surface compatibility on a test tile.
• Area of use: Do not use on the interior or food-contact surfaces of vessels intended for hot foods.
• Decorative use: The product may be used on decorative objects and pottery surfaces that do not come into contact with food.
• Care: Hand washing is recommended to preserve the glossy, speckled surface appearance.
• Safety: Use appropriate personal protective equipment during application and ensure that the workspace is adequately ventilated.
