Refsan 756 Ready-to-Use Liquid Ceramic Casting Slip
It is ready for use; however, you should stir it again, measure its specific gravity (Baumé), and filter it before use. The recommended Baumé range is between 50 and 60. The firing temperature is 1040–1060°C.
Important points to consider when using ready-to-use casting slip: The product may arrive with sediment at the bottom. You should mix the product thoroughly using a mixer. A creamy layer on top of the slip indicates incomplete mixing. Mix for at least 10 minutes. Once you're sure the slip is well mixed, be sure to measure it with a Baumé meter. The composition of the slip may vary depending on weather conditions. When taking the slip from the container, it should be filtered using a sieve or mesh. After these steps, it is recommended to use the slip immediately after mixing, without waiting for it to settle again.
NOTE: Ensure the mold is dry and the slip is bubble-free when pouring it into the mold.
NOTE: Pouring the slip slowly into the mold helps prevent bubbles and ensures it reaches even the smallest cavities.
NOTE: The prepared slip should have a density of 1680–1690 g/L.
