A-375 Stone Blue - Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

A-375 Stone Blue is an artistic low-fire glaze that creates dynamic surfaces with a cobalt blue base and transitions of turquoise and seafoam tones. After firing, its glossy, cratered, multi-tonal surface develops a three-dimensional appearance reminiscent of stone, lava, and ocean textures.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application Notes

  • Brush application: Apply 2-5 coats to develop the stone effect and cratered texture. Allow the surface to dry completely between coats.
  • Layer effect: As the number of coats increases, the bubbly surface, crater depth, and color transitions between cobalt and turquoise may become more pronounced.
  • Clay body selection: Blue and turquoise tones may appear clearer on light-colored clay bodies. On darker bodies, crater cavities and surface shadows may appear deeper.
  • Reactive character: Color distribution, crater size, and surface movement may vary depending on application thickness, firing temperature, kiln atmosphere, and cooling rate.
  • Consistency adjustment: For dipping or spray applications, 10-15% water may be added depending on the required consistency. Water should be added in a controlled manner.
  • Preparation: Mix the glaze thoroughly before use to ensure an even distribution of pigments and texture-forming particles.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of artistic low-fire glazes may vary depending on application thickness, clay body, kiln atmosphere, and cooling rate. Testing on a test tile before the main application is recommended.
