SP 1468 Pablo - Artistic High-Fire Glaze

SP 1468 Pablo is a reactive high-fire glaze that creates transitions between cream, beige, and honey-yellow tones. Depending on application thickness and firing temperature, the surface can range from matte to glossy, producing distinctive and artistic results with each firing.

Important Information: This glaze does not contain toxic substances. However, since it does not provide acid resistance, it is not recommended for interior surfaces that will come into direct contact with highly acidic foods such as vinegar and lemon.

Application Notes

  • Thin application: At lower temperatures, a softer and more matte surface in cream and beige tones can be achieved.
  • Thick application: In areas where the glaze pools, warm honey tones and glossy transitions become more pronounced, creating a richer appearance.
  • High temperature: As the firing temperature approaches 1250°C, the surface may become glossier and develop microcrystal-like textures.
  • Brush application: 1-3 coats are recommended. Allow the surface to dry completely between coats.
  • Flow: The glaze is more stable between 1200°C and 1220°C. With thick applications between 1220°C and 1250°C, its tendency to flow may increase.
  • Clay body selection: White porcelain and light-colored high-fire clay bodies can produce brighter cream and honey tones.
Important Recommendation: The appearance of Pablo glaze may vary depending on application thickness, firing temperature, clay body, and kiln atmosphere. Preparing test tiles at different temperatures is recommended before batch production.
