Technical Details and Application

Painting and Glazing

Refsan underglaze ready-to-use paints are highly compatible with this saucer bisque. Achieving a non-porous, lead-free finish through correct glazing is essential for hygienic and long-lasting use.

  • Ceramic Application: Fire between 1040°C and 1050°C for a professional, high-gloss finish.
  • Tile (Çini) Application: Traditional tile glazes maturing at 900°C – 920°C can also be used for artisanal decorative styles.

Decorative Use with Acrylic Paint

  • Suitable only for display-oriented decorative projects (no kiln firing required).
  • Safety Warning: Acrylic-finished saucers are not food-safe. Do not use for serving food or as a cup rest if finished with acrylics.
  • A protective varnish is recommended post-painting to preserve the decorative finish.

Craftsmanship & Material Variations

Fired at 1050°C to reach its sturdy bisque state, each saucer carries the unique marks of artisanal production. Natural variations in thickness, size, or clay tone are hallmarks of authentic pottery, ensuring every piece has its own character.

Firing Safety & Guidelines

  • Surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned of dust and completely dry before glaze application.
  • Strictly follow the temperature requirements of the specific glaze type used.
  • Perform a test fire to observe how kiln variations influence the final bisque color.
