S 1010 Mora - Artistic Low-Fire Glaze

S 1010 Mora is an artistic low-fire glaze featuring white and yellow mineral speckles over yellow and lilac tones. In thin applications, yellow tones may appear more prominent, while thicker areas can develop richer lilac tones and variegated transitions. Its glossy and semi-transparent character creates a layered and reactive surface appearance.

Food Safe: This glaze is suitable for surfaces that come into contact with food when proper application and firing conditions are followed.

Application Notes

  • Thin application: Yellow tones may appear lighter and more prominent.
  • Thick application: The color may intensify toward lilac tones, while variegated transitions can become more pronounced.
  • Speckle density: The visibility of the white and yellow mineral speckles may vary depending on application thickness.
  • Mixing: Stir the product thoroughly before and during application to prevent the particles from settling and to ensure even distribution across the surface.
  • Coat control: Allow each coat to dry sufficiently before applying the next coat and avoid excessive glaze buildup on the surface.
  • Consistency adjustment: For spraying or dipping applications, add water gradually and in a controlled manner. Avoid excessive dilution.
  • Form effect: Glaze thickness may increase in recessed and curved areas, causing the lilac tones to appear more intense in these regions.
  • Clay body selection: Due to its semi-transparent character, the color of the clay body may affect the final appearance of the yellow and lilac tones.
  • Glaze combinations: Before combining with other glazes, test chemical compatibility, color interaction, and flow behavior on a test tile.
  • Care: Hand washing is recommended to preserve the glossy finish and artistic speckled effect.
  • Safety: Appropriate personal protective equipment should be used during application, and the work area should be adequately ventilated.
  • Storage: Keep the container tightly closed and away from direct sunlight. If settling, drying, or thickening occurs, mix thoroughly before application and strain if necessary.
Important Recommendation: The intensity of the yellow and lilac tones, distribution of the white and yellow speckles, gloss level, and semi-transparent appearance may vary depending on application thickness, form, clay body, kiln firing schedule, kiln loading arrangement, and cooling rate. Testing on both vertical and horizontal test tiles is recommended before full-scale application or combining with other glazes.
