Magnesite (magnesium carbonate, MgCO3) is white in color (when it contains impurities, its color can vary from gray to brown).
Its specific gravity varies between 3-3.2 and hardness 3.5-5.
It exists in nature in two forms, cryptocrystalline and crystalline.
It is a hard and complex mineral and is the product of alteration of serpentine or similar rocks.

 

Usage areas :
Some refractory bricks lining of cement kilns, lining of reduction and raising furnaces, metal smelting, animal feed as refractory material, fertilizer, pharmaceutical industry, light construction element, paper industry, automotive oils.
It is used in the production of fire-resistant bricks and in the production of magnesia (MgO), which is used in the chemical industry or pharma
