SP 1531 - Anyolite Artistic Crystal Glaze (1200-1220°C)

SP 1531 Anyolite takes its name from Anyolite stone, one of nature’s most dignified mineral formations, known for ruby-like sparkles scattered over a deep khaki green base. With small, dense, opaque green crystals spreading over a dark khaki green transparent base, it gives your ceramic forms the aesthetic of a wild natural layer. The glossy depth of the base and the partly matte texture of the crystals leave a mineralogical signature on your piece with every firing.

Safety and Chemical Resistance: It does not contain toxic substances. Acid resistance remains consistent in areas where crystal distribution is balanced and controlled; however, chemical resistance may decrease in areas where crystals completely cover the surface due to overly thick application. Decorative and artistic use is prioritized.

Crystal Development and Artistic Techniques

The artistic strength of Anyolite glaze comes from the organic reaction of the crystals to application thickness:

  • Gradient Application: To trigger crystal formation, both thin and thick areas should be created on the same surface. On vertical forms, applying a thick layer at the upper sections and thinning downward helps the crystals distribute evenly across the surface.
  • Crystal Matte: If the entire surface is applied too thickly, the crystals intensify and completely cover the surface, creating a slightly textured, matte, and characteristic surface called a “crystal matte.”
  • Clay Effect: Since the glaze has a transparent structure, it gives the deepest green tones especially on white porcelain clay. On colored clays, it produces more mysterious and darker results due to the effect of the undertone.

Color Harmony Suggestions

You can create artistic balance by combining Anyolite’s wild green tones with the following colors:

Burgundy / Ruby Red (Mineral Harmony)

Pure White (Fresh Contrast)

Matte Black (Strong Depth)

Gold / Bronze (Luxury Accent)

Dark Forest Green

Care, Safety, and Storage

  • Care: When washed in a dishwasher, high heat and chemicals may cause dulling in the crystal texture or shine over time; hand washing is recommended.
  • Safety: Protective equipment should be used during application, the product should be kept away from fire sources, and children should apply it only under supervision.
  • Storage: Store airtight. If it dries after sitting for a long time, add water, mix, strain, and use.
