Magnesium Oxide
Magnesium Oxide

Magnesium Oxide

It is a member of the calcite group.
It is used as a raw material in the production of brick-like materials.
It is obtained from magnesite minerals, which ranks 8th among the elements in the earth's crust in terms of abundance.
It is odorless and white in color. It is found in compounds such as magnesite, dolomite, magnesium, brucite, serpentine, crosilite, sepiolite, talc.
Due to its low density, it finds widespread use in the space industry.
It is a high melter in glazes and creates semi-matt surfaces with additives of around 10%.
With little additives, it creates a shine effect on the glaze.
Due to its high surface tension, aggregation in the glaze creates pinhole defects in increasing the additive ratio.
MgO added glazes are resistant to chemical and physical effects and have a hard surface.
